When I saw some dead flowers in the neighbors' trash, I remembered it's my wedding anniversary?

I salvaged them and gave them to my wife. She was mad because they were dead, but I told her they were dried to last a long time. She didn't believe me though. Now she's crying. How can I get her to simmer down?
