Should I Send This Girl I Like Flowers For Her Birthday?

I've known this girl for awhile now, probably 2 years....we work together and i really like her. Her birthday is coming up soon and I thought sending her flowers would be a nice thing and maybe show her that i like her? What do you think? Good idea or no? Also why type of flowers do you think i should send? I think roses would be a bit to much, i don't want to freak her out.
